Tinkerbell Legacy - Living with a flying parrot

Phillip Little final journey
shanlung
You knew of my British friend Phillip Little.

That after a lapse of 30++ years, I got to see him on Sunday 30 Sep 2012. I was so happy for him still full of energy and happiness on that morning. I could not have known that was his last hurrah and he left us all the next morning.

During WW2, he was send to the country side from London. He came back to his home to find it a big crater in the ground and that he was alone other than the family he was with in the country. Then that family passed on. He was never alone and he had his friends.

We told that to the British Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. But they decided to do a thorough job in checking if Phillip had Next Of Kin in UK or around the world.

They took about 4 weeks, and decided Phillip can be released to his friends in Batu Pahat to take care of him.

They had a wake for him for a couple of days. Part of the wake was to drink up the beer that Phillip brewed and bottled. I did not have the luck to drink that. But I was told it was a very good beer. Apparently on the last night of the wake, lots of beer were drank for a spirited sending off party. All who knew Phillip said he would have like that very much.

An indication of the kind of person Phillip was can be seen in this person Eric who was at the wake the day before. Eric called Cyrus when he came back to Singapore. Cyrus thought Eric had to be a photographer or in advertising. Eric told him no, and that he was a butcher. Selling pork in the Pasir Panjang wet market. Phillip bought often from him and became friends 20++ years ago. When Phillip was staying in the Riau Islands, Phillip would stay overnight with Eric each time he came to Singapore. Phillip had the knack of making friends regardless of backgrounds.

We drove up on Saturday to Batu Pahat for Phillip final send off on 27 Oct 2012.

We accompany him onto Fairy Hill in Pagoh where he was cremated.

Then it was a trip on the sampan of one of his friend from the village. To be taken to the sea in front of the village. You can see the jetty from the village where he shot many of his photos.

My camera had to run out of battery just when it was time to send Phillip Little home.
So I had Cyrus to send me this.

LiBai mash making.
About 300 grams of beef mince, with 200 grams of chicken mince and 150 grams of dried anchovies(for the calcium). That was all done up to the kitty mash formula I wrote about in

Instead of the almond and brazil nuts, about 100 grams of human grade groundnuts(peanuts) were used.
