Tinkerbell Legacy - Living with a flying parrot

11 hour, 11 day and 11 month
A day for remembering all the fallen,
regardless of the flag and what they wore.

They all live in Eternity now and in peace with those
that killed them and with those that ordered them to their deaths.

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I browsed my wife flickr and saw that she taken photos of the label pin that I was wearing for the last couple of weeks.

I wore that for all those that died in conflicts, regardless of the flags they were under, regardless of the skin or beliefs or what they fought for, in wars declared or not declared, if they wore uniform or not.

I wore that to honor their spirits and that their deaths led us all to be better people , to learn and live in peace, dignity and honor.

I only took that off on 12 November.

I bought this from a veteran on 11th November 2007 during a parade on that day in Brisbane when we were living there then. He fought in the South Pacific in WW2. I gave him 20, and asked him to keep the change.

Being the Master and Lord (at least of wifey even if not over birdies or beasties), I decided her flickr shot should be on my flickr account, and I rotated the right way up.

Here it is.
