Tinkerbell Legacy - Living with a flying parrot

Trying to regain his trust of backrubs on fan by TV

950 am

MM at 38.1 // YS at 32.4 // milli at 24.7 // suri at 70.7

Ivan was not a reliable alarm clock.

As in the last few days, even before I got my breakfast, and even before YS came out of his flight room, I was there molesting his back with bribes of millis. Then after the weighing, and with YS on the fan, I bribed him with millis to do his backrubs. Any arcing of fingers and palm over him prompt him to fly off to top of cupboard. But after that, his recalls to me were superb all the way to the far recalls to kitchen door. Then when we got back to the fan again, he remembered that I was in disgrace with him and he refused to let me backrub him. He showed in his own way he would do recalls, perfect recalls to me, but no backrubs on that fan. So at 1005 am, he came at my signal to the scale to tip it at 32.8 with millis at 24.1 gm

He was shooed back into the living room so I could harvest the traps in the suri main boxes. I was rather surprised by the amount of suris that still poured themselves into the traps. So perhaps while the millis might have prevented as many suris as I wanted, enough of them seemed to have survived into mid size and succulent gravid suris. So some went to the pure suri main box, some got returned to their smbs and some were harvested for YS , which went into the weight above.

I then traced YS singing to the bedroom to do more smart recalls with him. I went to the PC room with YS joining me there. I know I should feel blessed , but instead I felt so frustrated that YS readily allowed me to give him backrubs and body squeezes in the PC room. I had this nagging feeling that he was taunting me deliberately.

We had more recall training in living room later. But he was not even close to letting me backrub him on the fan by the TV.

At 1230pm, he was at 32.6 and millis at 23.0 gm, and time for Ivan to be out.

Then lunch and Olympics took over and at 315 pm, he was at 32.2 with millis at 22.8.

I got back at 515pm to find he was at 31.8 with milli still at 22.8 of course.

I thought with him at that low weight, he would be very much more receptive to backrub on the fan. Instead, he flew off to main door to practise his songs. Later when he flew down to the TV, I was rather surprised that he did not respond to recall cues. I became more alarmed when he did not even respond to the suri waved at him. I approached him with milli box to allow him a no-question-asked HIMB but he backed away from me.

I was so relieved later when he flew into the PC room to shout at me. I turned around , gave recall, and he flew to me. Instead of the one or two millis I would have given him, I let him eat and eat. When he was back on the fan with me giving backrubs, he was allowed to eat and eat.

When eventually he was weighed at 7 pm, I felt disgusted at myself at being taken in by his cheap trick of 'not eating' and thereby allowing him to gorge himself to 32.8 gm. The milli was at 21.4 and suri at 70.4

His MM of 38.4 was measured and placed in after he slept.

At 1230 pm, YS was
